Creating stability and opportunity for youth transitioning out of foster care.
Each year, thousands of young people age out of foster care without a stable place to live. Room for Hope unites property management companies, Entrata, and the 29:11 Project to provide safe housing and wraparound support for these youth as they step into independence.

How it works.

Entrata partners with local nonprofits to advertisethe program and invite qualified youth to apply. Afterthe application deadline, candidates are reviewedand reference interviews are conducted to helpidentify someone who will thrive in the program andcommunity. The customer will make the final decisionfrom 2-3 vetted applicants and then work directly withthe chosen candidate on executing a lease.
The typical commitment is one year, though details canbe discussed.
We’ll confirm property participation for the 2026 programby mid-December 2025. From there, we’ll begin workingtogether approximately three months before yourproposed move-in date to identify a youth participant,coordinate logistics with nonprofit partners, and plan theroom design and move-in experience.

This is at the discretion of each participating property.We’ll include your preference in the application form soexpectations are clear from the start. Some propertieschoose to cover utilities as part of their contribution,while others prefer that the tenant take on theseexpenses to experience the responsibility of managingbills and due dates.
Entrata partners with local nonprofit organizationsto cover the cost of the furnishings and room designelements as part of the Room for Hope program. At theend of the one-year housing term, the furniture and decorbelong to the individual. This allows them to take theiritems with them as they move into their next home andcontinue building their independence.
Room for Hope participants are typically young adultsaged 18–21 who are legally able to sign leases. The federalFair Housing Act does not list age as a protected class,but state and local laws may vary. You should considerwhether this opportunity is suitable for your particularcircumstances.
