Fee Transparency in Entrata

What is Fee Transparency?

Fee transparency is a regulatory and consumer-rights principle requiring businesses to clearly, simply, and accurately disclose all mandatory fees and charges associated with a product or service.

The core objective is to prevent "surprise" charges or "junk fees," allowing consumers and clients to see the all-in price before making a purchase or entering an agreement. This practice moves beyond a simple "best practice" and is increasingly becoming a legal requirement.

Effective fee transparency involves two main components:

  • Disclosure: Making sure all costs are presented clearly and conspicuously in advertising and at the point of sale.
  • Accuracy: Ensuring that the fees disclosed match the fees charged, and that all calculations are correct and auditable.

Entrata offers several features to help customers meet their obligations under fee transparency requirements. Entrata also supports 3rd-party vendors integrate with the Entrata platform and customers’ fee transparency data.
