Business Intelligence Engineer
Entrata’s Business Intelligence Engineer is who we rely on to build creative and modern business intelligence products used to examine business performance and profitability. As part of our Development team based in our Lehi, UT HQ, this role requires the ability to be the best and brightest. We’re looking for someone highly motivated, innovative and disruptive; a fast worker and fierce competitor.
Responsibilities will include:
Work with business stakeholders to understand key business initiatives and lead delivery of reports, dashboards, or one-time analyses
Derive business insights that increase revenue or decrease costs in collaboration with other data engineers.
Build data culture in the organization by gathering requirements, data warehousing, presenting data, and coming full circle back to requirements to close the BI feedback loop.
Fiercely collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure adoption of delivered solutions.
Leverage business intelligence engineering best practice mastery to develop, deploy, and maintain performant BI software.
Mentor junior BI engineers promoting a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
Work closely with BI engineering leadership and architecture to design and deliver Entrata’s data presentation layer.
Analyze business performance and showcase opportunities for business growth.
Advocate the implementation of industry best practices and new technologies to support business goals.
Remarkable relationship building with cross-functional teams throughout the organization.
4+ years designing and building scalable BI solutions (reports, dashboards, and other visualizations)
5+ years of SQL experience
Demonstrated business performance analysis proficiency
Experience with modern, cloud BI tools and best practices at enterprise scale
Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, Looker or other presentation platforms
Demonstrate technical storytelling skills that drive insight and behavior
Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline or equivalent work experience
Strong written and verbal communication
Experience debugging and optimizing SQL and/or Python
Experience modeling data and designing presentation layers
Experience with data warehousing and Kimball methodology
Experience writing business documents for technical systems
Advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, or computer science
