The Accounting Manager is key to the success of Entrata’s Accounting and Finance department and reports directly to the Controller. This position is primarily responsible for executing important steps in our month-end close and assisting accounting and finance executives in executing best-in-class practices. A successful candidate must be able to show proven success in public accounting, handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment, and show great attention to detail. People who find a lot of success are self-starters who can adapt well to changing responsibilities and workload while maintaining positive relationships with executives and team members!
Responsibilities will include
Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close processes and preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
Help develop and maintain a strong accounting team through training, coaching, managing workloads, and fostering a positive work environment
Research, explain, and document variances
Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies/procedures
Partner with the business and IT to drive process and system improvements
Perform research of complex or unusual accounting transactions, and document the resulting accounting conclusions
Provide support and explanations as needed to other departments, internal audits, and external auditors
Accounting for revenue recognition under ASC 606 and monitoring our adherence to policies
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Minimum of 4 years of related experience, including public accounting experience
Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
Advanced skills in MS Excel
Thorough understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Highly driven and self-motivated
Attention to detail
Effective communication skills, both written and oral
Willingness to work overtime to meet deadlines
NetSuite experience a plus
SaaS industry experience a plus
