The Senior Accountant is an important member of Entrata’s Accounting and Finance department and will report directly to the Director of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting. This position will primarily be responsible for month-end close processes, specifically revenue recognition, and assisting accounting and finance executives in executing best-in-class practices. A successful candidate must be able to show proven success in public accounting, handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment, and show great attention to detail. People who find a lot of success are self-starters who can adapt well to changing responsibilities and workload while maintaining positive relationships with executives and team members!
Responsibilities will include:
Assist in month-end close with a focus on revenue, including preparing journal entries as well as researching and explaining financial activities of the business
Accounting for more complex subject areas, such as revenue recognition, deferred revenue, etc.
Partner with accounting and finance leadership to propose solutions and ensure compliance with US GAAP or other relevant reporting requirements
Identify efficiencies to improve the revenue quote to cash process and find opportunities to ensure that our reporting and documentation practices are best-in-class
Assist in implementing processes to ensure compliance with adoption of new accounting standards
Provide support on finance and accounting projects as needed
BS in Accounting. CPA preferable
3+ years of experience
Solid foundation in US GAAP
Understanding of internal controls
Organized in the way you document and support your work
Highly driven and self-motivated
Attention to detail
Effective communication skills, both written and oral
Skilled in Excel and accounting systems
Willingness to work overtime to meet deadlines
Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
Experience doing accounting on complex topics such as revenue under ASC 606, leases under ASC 842 and other technical areas a plus
NetSuite experience a plus
Public company experience a plus
SaaS industry experience a plus
